Cuttler Adams Scores 4 TDs As Robbinsville Edges Out Mountain Heritage

Robbinsville Black Knights @ Mountain Heritage Cougars

The Black Knights utilized a decisive second quarter to hold on and beat the Mountain Heritage Cougars 28-17. After finding themselves down seven heading into the second quarter, Robbinsville responded nicely, scoring 14 and took a seven-point lead into halftime. Their effort in the second quarter gave them what they needed to hold on to the win on Friday night. Cuttler Adams could not be stopped as he tallied all four scores for the Black Knights. Robbinsville is now 3-0 with a +71-point differential on the season.

Team Notes

Adams ran straight through the Cougars defense all night as the star running back finished with 166 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries. Sr. QB Donovan Carpenter finished 4/6 in the air as he threw for 78 yards. Jr. Bryce Adams led the WR room with 55 yards on three catches. Bryce and Cuttler Adams both dominated on the defensive side of the ball as well. Bryce led the unit with 13 tackles and a sack while Cuttler finished with 12 tackles and one TFL. Robbinsville would finish with 288 yards on offense while their defense held Mountain Heritage to 226 yards.

The Cougars fell short in this one as they failed to stop the Cuttler Adams-led run game. However, on the other side of the ball, QB Brandon Quinn turned in a solid performance as he threw for a touchdown and also led the Cougars rush attack with 77 yards and another touchdown on the ground. Quinn would connect with So. WR Cason Jones for the Cougars only passing touchdown and Jones would lead the WR group with 35 yards. There were no individual defensive stats on Maxpreps or Hudl at the time of this article for Mountain Heritage.

Looking Ahead

Unfortunately for the Cougars they now fall below .500 as they sit at 1-2 on the year with the two losses coming on a combined 12 points. They will travel to Hendersonville to take on the 1-2 Bearcats. As for Robbinsville, they will travel to Sparta to take on the 1-2 Alleghany Trojans.
