Robbinsville High School Announces Lucas Ford as New Head Football Coach

Robbinsville High School is thrilled to announce the hiring of Lucas Ford as the new Head Football Coach for the Black Knights. Coach Ford, along with his wife Ashley and their two children, Bella and Rhett, is eager to embark on this new chapter. With an extensive coaching background and a deep passion for both athletics and character development, Coach Ford is poised to elevate the Robbinsville Black Knight football program.

A 2000 graduate of Robbinsville High School, Coach Ford earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University in 2005. Over the past 19 years, he has taught at both the middle and high school levels and coached multiple sports. Currently, Coach Ford serves as a high school Physical Education teacher, head Varsity Girls Basketball coach, Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator for the Black Knights, and Assistant Athletic Director since 2021.

Coach Ford is dedicated to continuing the tradition of leading a football program rooted in discipline, strong work ethic, and success. He envisions an environment where student-athletes thrive both on and off the field. His goal is to help shape young men who are mentally and physically strong, grounded in faith, and exemplify passion, character, accountability, and discipline. Coach Ford’s ultimate aim is to develop young men that the Robbinsville community can be proud of every day—not just on Friday nights.
