GRAHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The Graham County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to practice safe firearm storage by offering free gun locks to members of the public while supplies last.
The initiative is part of the sheriff’s office’s ongoing commitment to helping keep the community safe and reducing the risk of accidental firearm-related injuries, particularly those involving children.
According to the sheriff’s office, the free gun locks are intended to promote responsible firearm ownership by providing an additional layer of security for firearms stored in homes. Properly securing firearms can help prevent unauthorized access and reduce the likelihood of accidental shootings.
The program offers several benefits, including:
- Free gun locks available to the public
- Increased protection for children and families
- Promotion of safe and secure firearm storage
- Distribution available while supplies last
Residents who would like to receive a free gun lock can stop by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office to pick one up.
The sheriff’s office encourages all firearm owners to take advantage of the program as part of its message to “Protect your family. Secure your firearms.”
