Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Seizure of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine and Firearms in Graham County

ROBBINSVILLE, N.C. — A multi-agency investigation has led to the seizure of more than 100 grams each of fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as three firearms, including one reported stolen, from a residence in Graham County.

The Graham County Sheriff’s Office said it assisted the Waynesville Police Department and Haywood County Sheriff’s Office after an ongoing investigation led law enforcement into Graham County.

As part of the investigation, deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Old Tallulah Road in Robbinsville. Authorities reported seizing approximately 117 grams of fentanyl and 120 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, including scales and smoking devices.

Three firearms were also recovered. According to the sheriff’s office, one of the firearms was confirmed to have been stolen.

The search resulted in additional felony charges against four individuals:

● Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
● Possession of Methamphetamine

Brian Farrell was charged with:
● Trafficking Fentanyl
● Trafficking Methamphetamine
● Maintaining a Dwelling
● Possession of Stolen Firearms
● Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
● Possession of Methamphetamine

The investigation remains a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies across multiple jurisdictions.

Graham County Sheriff Russell W. Moody said his office will continue working with neighboring agencies to address criminal activity that crosses county lines.

“My commitment is to the people of Graham County,” Moody said. “We will continue working every day to keep our citizens, families and communities safe. If criminal activity crosses county lines, we will work across those same lines with our law enforcement partners to address it. Graham County will not be a safe place for those who choose to sell illegal drugs or bring criminal activity into our community.”

The Graham County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Waynesville Police Department and Haywood County Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and partnership throughout the investigation.

Officials said the case highlights the importance of cooperation among law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking and removing illegal firearms and other criminal activity from local communities.

The charges are allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
