Robbinsville Defense Shines In 35-7 Win Over Alleghany

Robbinsville Black Knights @ Alleghany Trojans

The Black Knights once again use defense to win ball games as they shut down the Alleghany Trojans, 35-7. The game got away from Alleghany very early as they faced a 22-point deficit heading into the second quarter. Robbinsville totaled 215 yards through an unstoppable run game that accounted for four of the five scores from the Black Knights on Friday night. Robbinsville now sits at 4-0 on the year with a +99-point differential.

Team Notes

Cuttler Adams balled out again leaded the ground game with 109 yards and a touchdown on 14 while also leading the team with 30 yards receiving. Sr. QB Donovan Carpenter finished 4/7 with 77 yards and a touchdown in the air while utilizing his feet to add another score on the ground. WR Roman Jones would be the recipient of the line Carpenter passing touchdown while Kage Williams and Chase Calhoun would both record a rushing touchdown of their own. Calhoun and Zeke Silvers would lead the way on the other side of the ball as they duo combined for 18 tackles and two TFLs. In total, Robbinsville would finish with an impressive 14 TFLs and three interceptions.

As for Alleghany, there were not many positives. The offense managed just 147 yards while the defense allowed 35 points in this rout. So. RB led the offense with 66 yards on six carries, though 58 of those yards came on just one carry. ATH Mack LeMasters was found all over the scoresheet as the senior finished 2/8 for 18 yards and three INTs with 20 yards on the ground on offense and led the defense with nine tackles.

Looking Ahead

The Black Knights will round out their non-con schedule with a matchup against fellow undefeated titan, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagle. As for the Trojans, they now sit at 1-3 on the year and will start conference play with a road game against the 4-0 Starmount Rams.
