Lady Knights Remain Unbeaten Heading Into Rematch With Enka

Robbinsville Rolls in at 17-0, Hosts Enka in Midweek Rematch

ROBBINSVILLE — Robbinsville hasn’t left much doubt through the first stretch of the season.

Seventeen games in, the Lady Knights are still unbeaten at 17-0, and they’ll put that mark on the line Wednesday at home against Enka in a rematch of an earlier meeting that went in Robbinsville’s favor.

The consistency has been the story. Night after night, Robbinsville has leaned on pitching, clean defense, and a lineup that continues to produce.

Freshman Ella Nelms has been at the center of it all. She’s hitting .611 with a .667 on-base percentage, and she’s been even more impressive in the circle. Nelms carries an ERA sitting right around 0.10, and opposing teams have struggled to string together anything against her. She’s worked efficiently, limited free passes, and kept hitters off balance, rarely allowing an inning to get away.

At the plate, Robbinsville has had steady production up and down the order.

Khaygan Buchanan has been one of the most reliable bats in the lineup, hitting .600 with a .657 on-base percentage. She’s consistently found ways to reach and has helped keep pressure on opposing defenses throughout games.

Daphne Barlow has handled much of the run production in the middle of the order. She leads the team with 20 RBIs and has scored 27 runs, coming through in key situations and helping extend innings when Robbinsville has opportunities.

In the first meeting between the two teams, Robbinsville controlled the pace early and never let Enka settle in. The Lady Knights were able to get on the board, play clean behind their pitching, and manage the game from there.

Enka comes in Wednesday with a second look and a chance to make adjustments, which often makes these matchups tighter the second time around. Still, Robbinsville’s approach has been consistent all season.

If the Lady Knights continue to get ahead in counts, play solid defense, and get production from the top of the lineup, they’ll be in position to keep their unbeaten run going.

First pitch is set for Wednesday evening in Robbinsville.
