NCHSAA 1A Softball Brackets- Robbinsville 6th Straight SMC Title Leads To #3 Seed

NCHSAA- The Preliminary 1A West playoff brackets have been released, and 6 of our Smoky Mountain Conference softball teams will see playoff action.

Robbinsville captured their 6th straight SMC title this past week, and thanks to their stellar play in the regular season, they will be the #3 overall seed on the West side of the bracket and have home-field advantage for most of the playoffs.

Hiwassee Dam was awarded the #14 seed in the playoffs, setting up a potentially thrilling game two rematch with Robbinsville in round 2 if they win their first-round home game.

Murphy will enter the playoffs as the #13 seed, the third and final SMC team to be awarded a home game in round 1.

Cherokee will be the #21 seed, Swain will be the #22 seed, and Hayesville is our final SMC team as the #25 seed.

First Round Matchups:

#3 Robbinsville vs #30 NC Leadership Academy

The SMC Champs will be at home for most of the playoffs if they can keep winning. Round 1 should be no problem vs NC Leadership Academy, but round 2 gets very interesting as we could see a potential rematch vs Hiwassee Dam, the only SMC team to beat the Knights in the regular season.

#13 Murphy vs #20 Starmount

The Bulldogs will have a first round home game vs 10-11 Starmount on Tuesday thanks to ending their season on a five game winning streak.

#14 Hiwassee Dam vs #19 Elkin

Hiwassee Dam will be at home in round 1 vs Elkin, and they should be favored in this one as long as they don’t get caught looking ahead.

#12 East Wilkes vs #21 Cherokee

A really tough draw for the Braves as they’ll hit the road in round 1 to face the 20-5 Cardinals.

#11 Union Academy vs #22 Swain Co. 

Swain will travel to Monroe in round one to take on the 18-4 Union Academy Cardinals.

#8 Bethany Community vs #25 Hayesville

The Jackets will head to Summerville to take on Bethany Academy on Tuesday.
