Big Oaks Stadium- As a nice show of thanks to the community that worked so hard to make this season under the Big Oaks happen, Robbinsville put on a show vs East Surry on Friday night.
Cuttler Adams started the scoring early with a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and the Black Knights never looked back. Robbinsville would go on to take a 40-6 victory over East Surry, and boy did they look good doing it.
Adams tallied 4 total touchdowns on the evening, including a 73-yard strike from Donovan Carpenter in the third quarter.
Chase Calhoun fit in seamlessly in his new role for Robbinsville, rushing 9 times for 70 yards. The rest of the Black Knights backfield also pitched in, rushing for nearly 350 yards and 4 touchdowns on the night.
In Donovan Carpenters first game action since suffering a broken collarbone last Fall, the Black Knights signal caller looked cool, calm, and collected, going 5-10 for 109 yards and a TD. Carpenter also added a score on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Knights looked as strong as ever as they completely stonewalled East Surry while allowing less than 200 yards of total offense (44 yards on the ground) and forcing 4 turnovers.
Robbinsville (1-0) will host the Franklin Panthers (0-1) next Friday, the 25th.
